Brothers and Sisters, Happy labor day and congratulations on having a real union - - please never take it for granted and value it. Labor unions brought organized labor into the middle class. As a long time SF cabby I sure respect your union. We lost ours years ago and it's been like Clay or Clipper Streets, all downhill since then! A full time cabby will often drive 36K per year and carry between six and 9K passengers annually for this often bare minimum wage job if that [medallion holders make more] but there are only a few benefits, nothing like Muni. Over at United Taxicab Workers drivers Bud, Mark, Ruach and Dave B have been keeping the fires warm, but it's not a real union like TWU. Anyway, just want to wish you all a happy Labor Day. Best Solidarity Wishes, Dave Schneider SFDave4U@yahoo.com
