The work orders billed to SFMTA are ridiculous. The most obvious and unfounded work order is 18 Million dollars to the Police Department. The Police Department...they don't ride the bus, they park in the bus zones and ignore vehicles in the Transit bus only lanes.
A budget that increases fares for decreased service? How could the Board of Supervisors pass this injustice.

Sup Campos ordered an audit of all work orders under $10,000.00. Evidently city depts were doing work orders at 9,999.00 so they would not have to report them. Why is the MTA paying the sfpd for work that they are suppose to be doing within their job scope. That's like Bus Drivers charging passengers a 1 dollar surcharge and putting it in their pockets along with their bi-weekly wages. MTA should post all work orders for the public to peruse.

Well the MTA budget looks like a done deal. I think it's fair to say that some of the Supervisors can be bought and sold. The MUNI is in danger and may never be the same with the upcoming changes. There is something awfully wrong about the way this deal went sour.

I thought we had the Supervisors' support. Most of these folks don't utilize public transportation so why should they care about fares and service cuts. These politicians come in talking grass roots stuff and end up with amnesia. These are the folks making decisions for us. I am totally unhappy with the outcome of the MTA Budget. How do we make them recognize who we are?
